Both of Scotty's books were funded by the Galveston Education Foundation which awarded Mrs. Brown's class 3 grants so far totaling over $9000!

About Scotty & his books
Scotty came to Scott Collegiate Academy as a stray puppy in 2012. He followed a student to school one Saturday. Mrs. Owens, Mrs. Fleury, and Ms. Sammons adopted Scotty and he became a mascot for the school. Most days Scotty is hanging around in the library or a classroom, he loves to read and do math!
In 2013/2014 we created the first Scotty book and 1n 2014/2015 we adid the 2nd book. Our classes were awarded grants for the project including library books in the first grant all about hurricanes. The 2nd grant funded book and the 3rd grant bought classroom books on art.
Scotty Cares
Scotty's first book benefits the Galveston Island Humane Society and the second book benefits the art department and a scholarship fund.
Mrs. Brown, the art teacher with Tank, Mrs. Fleury our Librarian with her dog Tank , & Mrs. Owens our Principal with Scotty. Mrs. Owens and Mrs. Fleury, and Mrs. Sammons take turns taking Scotty home. At the homes that share Scotty their are lots of other animals to play with like Tank. Scotty is friends with cats, dogs, ferrits, rabbits, and reptiles.
